BECKER’S AUTO RESTORATION

Helping the Do-It-Yourself Auto Restorer

Have you ever wanted to restore your own car? We here at Becker’s Auto Restoration advocate do-it-yourself (DIY) auto restorations. In doing so, we offer space, equipment, educational opportunities and a chance to get to know others with the same interests and goals. You might say we have our own “community” of restorers.

When you restore your own car the hobby takes on a whole new dimension – one of self-assurance, pride and more enjoyment of your vintage, hot rod and/or specialty automobile. And you can proudly say, “I restored it myself!”

In keeping with our advocacy for the DIY restorer we have just recently opened a new building where other hobbyists are able to rent space in which to restore their own dream cars. Just opening in February 2010, we have begun moving restoration equipment into the facility. Renters have access to our collection of tools and equipment, tools which the average hobbyist may not want to purchase. We also have a Binks spray paint booth available for rent. Renters get priority booking and reduced rates.  In addition, our renters help one another when someone is in a quandary or has questions, or perhaps when things need to be moved into another restoration area such as the paint booth. It all adds to that sense of “community”, one friend helping another.  That’s what the car hobby is all about, sharing experiences with fellow hobbyists.

The Becker family has been involved in the antique car hobby for over 40 years, during which time we operated Tualatin Valley Restorations and Becker’s Model T and A Ford Parts, Inc. Many types of automobiles were restored ranging from Model T Fords, 1922 Stanley Steamer to 1934 Rolls Royce and many in between. Four generations of Becker’s have enjoyed the antique car hobby for many years. You can view some of our personal cars and some of the restored automobiles by going to the “community” section and look under Bill Becker or Chris Becker.

We invite you to become a part of our “community” by renting space to restore your dream car. You can call Karen Becker at 503-628-2174 or Chris Becker at 503-848-4616 to see how we can help you with your DIY restoration.

If you would like to visit our shop, perhaps making it a destination for a “garage tour”, give Karen a call. Perhaps you would like us to come do a presentation at a club function, give us a call. Remember, we are located in the Portland, Oregon metro area.
